Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

Mathematics Department started its activity in 1356 AD and simultaneously with the establishment of Lorestan Higher Education Complex as a branch of Jundi Shapur University of Ahvaz (now Shahid Chamran) by accepting 35 students in mathematics.

In 1362, after the reopening of the universities, Lorestan Higher Education Complex started its activity independently with two majors: Mathematics and Chemistry. The Department of Mathematics, which is the oldest educational department of Lorestan University, with the approval of the large master plan of Lorestan University and its approval by the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education and the Program and Budget Organization in 1367, this department continued its activities in the two fields of pure mathematics bachelor and mathematics secretary. and then from 1369 applied mathematics bachelor's degree was added to the previous two degrees. In 1380, it started accepting students in postgraduate courses and now it accepts master students in three majors and 10 sub-majors, as well as Ph.D. students in three majors and 10 sub-majors. A computer science undergraduate student was added to the math department.
